The Chiropractic adjustment is what we center every treatment plan around at Align Sport and Spine. We truly believe in the body’s innate intelligence to know what to do and how to do it. The human body is a very powerful and intelligent organism that has the power to heal itself on its own. Sometimes interferences can affect our nervous system, which controls every cell, tissue, and organ in our body. This is what we call a subluxation in Chiropractic. This occurs when one or more vertebras of the spine become misaligned, putting stress or irritation on the nerves in the area. As a Chiropractor, Dr. Biddick’s job is to detect and correct these subluxations with specific gentle Chiropractic adjustments.
Regular adjustments can help to improve your overall health. When your spine is aligned, your nervous system is able to function properly. This helps your body to heal and stay healthy. Adjustments can also help to relieve pain, improve range of motion, and increase flexibility.
Some patients may assume that if they are not hurting anymore, they do not need Chiropractic care. This could not be further from the truth. Although Chiropractic is very effective in treating acute pain and illness, Dr. Biddick believes Chiropractic works BEST when utilized in a preventative or optimizing way.
At Align Sport & Spine, we are certified in many different techniques. The most common adjustment techniques are Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Flexion Distraction, and Webster. We use a customized approach to find the techniques that will be the most beneficial for your condition.
Diversified adjustments are the most common type of adjustment. This is a gentle yet effective way to align your spine. This is one of Dr. Biddick’s most proficient techniques for treating the vast majority of conditions.
Gonstead is a specific technique that is used to correct subluxations in the spine. This technique is a manual, hands-on approach, similar to Diversified.
The Thompson adjustment technique uses a special table that allows us to gently adjust the spine. This type of adjustment is often used for patients who are pregnant or have mobility issues.
Flexion Distraction is a technique that uses a special type of table. This technique helps to decompress the spine and take pressure off of the discs. This is a great option for patients who have herniated discs or degenerative disc disease.
Webster technique is specifically designed for pregnant women. This technique helps to realign the pelvis and take pressure off of the lower back. This is a gentle and safe way to adjust the spine during pregnancy.
Chiropractic adjustments are safe when performed by trained and licensed individuals.
Chiropractic care is an excellent way to improve health and fitness. It can help you recover faster from exercise, reduce sick days through the boost in your immune system that it provides, as well as improve productivity at work or on-field performance!
The spinal adjustment is a gentle and safe procedure that helps relieve neck pain. You may experience some soreness or achiness after the treatment, but this will go away over time as it should!
Chiropractic care effectively treats a wide range of conditions affecting the nervous system and musculoskeletal systems. The most common ailments chiropractors treat include low back pain, headaches, or neck problems, among others, that affect your overall physical function in life.
The spinal joints are moved very slightly during an adjustment, causing a drop in pressure that signals the release of gas from between them. This causes that signature “POP” sound we all know so well.
